In this product listing, seize the opportunity to own a roll of US Dimes with a total face value of $5 (USD). These coins proudly display the image of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the impactful olive branch, torch, and oak branch combination, all expertly crafted by John R. Sinnock.

Notably, these Roosevelt Dimes are distinguished by their 90% silver content, and the date marks on each coin in the $5 Roll must fall between the years 1946 to 1964. The Coinage Act of 1965 marked a shift in the silver content of American coins, with dimes minted after 1964 incorporating 75% copper and 25% nickel.

Introduced by Congressman Ralph H. Daughton in 1945, Roosevelt Dimes replaced the iconic Winged Liberty (Mercury) Dime design that had graced the US ten-cent piece since 1916. Sinnock, the Chief Engraver of the US Mint, played a pivotal role in creating this historic coin design, becoming the first mint employee in over 40 years to contribute to a regular-issue US coin design.

On the obverse, Roosevelt's left-profile portrait pays tribute to his exceptional presidency, during which he redefined the limits of presidential terms. Following Roosevelt's tenure, US law was amended to restrict presidents to a maximum of two terms, a practice established in honor of George Washington's precedent.

The reverse, also designed by Sinnock, features the central torch of Liberty, the olive branch of peace on the left, and the oak branch of civic achievement on the right. Engravings include the nation of issue, the national motto, and the face value of the coin.
